Lin.ger/ (wolof): Queen.

Linguère was the title given to the mother or sister of the sovereign, in the Serer kingdoms of Sine Saloum and previously the Kingdom of Baol, and Wolof kingdoms of Cayor, Djolof, Baol and Waalo in ancient Senegal. The word “linger” means “queen” or “princess.”
